Item type:Publication, Interreligious Dialogue and Cooperation between Faculties of Theology in Macedonia(Regensburg: Verlag Friedrich Pustet, 2026); ;Anev, Darko; Schön, DietmarThe theoretical framework for this research draws upon peace-building literature that emphasizes the role of educational institutions in transforming post-conflict societies. Religious educational institutions occupy a distinctive position in this context, as they simultaneously preserve theological traditions while potentially serving as bridges between communities. The initiatives examined in this study represent what might be termed “educational diplomacy,” wherein academic exchange becomes a vehicle for broader social reconciliation. Previous research has demonstrated that interventions targeting future religious leaders can have multiplier effects throughout communities, yet few studies have longitudinally examined the implementation and sustainability of such programs in the post-conflict countries. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The translation and printing of biblical texts have been the primary focus of the society's work, and this paper aims to trace its three-decade-long activity through the lens of translations into the Macedonian language. Biblical translations are an integral part of humanity's cultural history, with many factors influencing translation processes over time. It is important to recognize that translation involves two closely intertwined elements: language and cultural context. In Macedonian history, both aspects are deeply connected to biblical translations. This text provides an overview of the history of the Society, with particular emphasis on the characteristics and significance of translations of the Scriptures into modern Macedonian. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Christianity and Islam in the Context of Contemporary Culture: New Perspectives on Dialogue and Mutual Understanding(Faculty of Filosophy, Skopje, 2022)Aneta Jovkovska, Gjoko GjorgjevskiThis research is dedicated to the perspectives of dialogue between two major world religions: Christianity and Islam in the context of contributing to the development of the contemporary world. Mutual respect and understanding expressed through initiatives for constructive dialogue and cooperation can contribute to the consolidation of a culture of peace, to the promotion of social interaction and to the strengthening of the creative potential of society. The focus on the common heritage of both religious traditions, represented by the multitude of insights and archetypes of Abrahamic origin, is the starting point for progress in the dialogue. Regarding this, the need arises to reform educational programs at all levels in education by introducing more religious-ethical content that will convey the message of fruitful inter- religious dialogue between different social groups, in order to strengthen and promote social cohesion and to create a common dimension of cultural and spiritual progress. In the proper setting of the teaching process, students can feel that fully belong to the competence of action and change, no matter how beginner it may seem at their age. Thus peace-pedagogical stimuli receive a new emphasis that extends to caring for the created world. Justice is understood as a decisive condition for peace and preservation of the created world. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, The Battle of Identity: The Abolition of the Archbishopric of Ohrid and the surrounding socio-political circumstances in the Ottoman Empire(Институт за национална историја - Скопје, 2020)Gjorgjevski, Gjokoabolition of the Archbishopric of Ohrid on May 17, 1767 is an act that had a deep impact on the ecclesiastical history of the Balkans. This happened during the Ottoman rule in Macedonia, supported by the Sublime Porte. Since the 14th century the Archbishopric was territorially and administratively under the Sublime Porte, which was not interfering with the ecclesiastical independence, and also provided a range of benefits to the development of local medieval written tradition (especially by literary centres), the continued improvement of church services in Slavic language and the development in other spheres of the cultural and spiritual life. The relationship between the Archbishopric and the Porte got worse in the late 17th or early 18th century, when the Ottoman Empire got weak, and when phanariotes and the Patriarchate of Constantinople strengthened their status in the Empire. The phanariotes improved their financial power and became leaders in trade on the Balkans, in Russia and Europe, and so they acquired a range of different privileges, which made them extremely influential. A serious propaganda was conducted by them against the Archbishopric of Ohrid, one that produced numerous replacements of archbishops, and finally, they succeeded to achieve their goal – the abolition of the Ohrid Archbishopric.
