Item type:Publication, Christianity and Islam in the Context of Contemporary Culture: New Perspectives on Dialogue and Mutual Understanding(Faculty of Filosophy, Skopje, 2022)Aneta Jovkovska, Gjoko GjorgjevskiThis research is dedicated to the perspectives of dialogue between two major world religions: Christianity and Islam in the context of contributing to the development of the contemporary world. Mutual respect and understanding expressed through initiatives for constructive dialogue and cooperation can contribute to the consolidation of a culture of peace, to the promotion of social interaction and to the strengthening of the creative potential of society. The focus on the common heritage of both religious traditions, represented by the multitude of insights and archetypes of Abrahamic origin, is the starting point for progress in the dialogue. Regarding this, the need arises to reform educational programs at all levels in education by introducing more religious-ethical content that will convey the message of fruitful inter- religious dialogue between different social groups, in order to strengthen and promote social cohesion and to create a common dimension of cultural and spiritual progress. In the proper setting of the teaching process, students can feel that fully belong to the competence of action and change, no matter how beginner it may seem at their age. Thus peace-pedagogical stimuli receive a new emphasis that extends to caring for the created world. Justice is understood as a decisive condition for peace and preservation of the created world. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Трансцендентноста и иманентноста на Бога во патристичката философија(Православен богословски факултет „Свети Климент Охридски“ – Скопје, 2023)The term “theology” can be reduced to two meanings established since the epoch of the Byzantine Middle Ages, of which the first and basic meaning refers to the experience of knowing God and the immediate communion with Him. The second meaning, on the other hand, covers the conceptualization and expression of that experience with the language of various discourses – starting from philosophy, through rhetoric, and all the way to art and music. These two meanings are mutually related and mutually conditioned. However, in this paper we will not delve into the question of the their historical emergence and development, as well as their connection and mutual relationship. Instead, we will focus on one question that acts as a basic assumption of theology in both its senses, namely, the belief that God can be known and that experience can be discursively expressed. With this aim, we will dwell on the question of the transcendence and immanence of God and the ways in which that question is answered within the Byzantine theological-philosophical tradition. For this purpose, we will analyze three basic discourses, through which Christianity responds to it: the biblical, the liturgical-homilitic and the philosophical discourse. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Поимите за љубовта во доцна Византија(Православен богословски факултет „Свети Климент Охридски“ – Скопје, 2021)In the Byzantine philosophical tradition the three traditional Greek notions of love – ἔρως, ἀγάπη and φιλία – are often being used without being conceptually differentiated one from another. The aim of the present work is to determine the context of the various uses of these terms and the following conceptual analysis has an objective to track the influence of Aristotelian and Thomistic philosophy in Byzantium. Is it possible to talk about a productive reception of “pagan” and “western” philosophy in Byzantium, i.e. is it possible to transform these concepts and integrate them into the framework of Byzantine philosophy? We will try to answer these questions from the perspective of the 14th century Byzantine philosopher and theologian Saint Nicolas Cabasilas, whose unique synthetic thought could serve as a model for the dynamic use of the above mentioned terms. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Односот Исток-Запад во современото изучување на византиската философија(Православен богословски факултет „Свети Климент Охридски“ – Скопје, 2020)The current tendencies toward dispersion of the theological-philosophical focus and the growing interest in exploring of the mediations between Byzantium and the medieval West are inextricably linked to the achievements of previous generations of Orthodox theologians and philosophers-byzantologists, especially those of the so-called “neopalamite” movement. The grounding in their discourse not only does not limit the contemporary research of Byzantine philosophy, but also protects it against stereotypical constructions and arbitrary conclusions, thus keeping the ground under its feet in the face of the unknown and the unexplored. Questions such as: "Is there a Byzantine philosophy?", Or "What are the lines by which Byzantine philosophy and theology are differentiated from their Western medieval counterpart?" are sufficiently absolved and as such they move into the domain of assumptions upon which further scientific research activity should be based. In the context of the question about the mutual relationship between East and West in the Middle Ages, this means that there is a substantial emphasis-shift from the question about the self-differentiation from the “other” to the interest for a substantial and detailed acquaintance with Western medieval philosophy and theology, and especially with the dynamics of its attitude and relationship to the Byzantine East. The proposed analysis of two West-East debates of the 12th century and their connection with current theological and philosophical issues is another step in this direction. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Исходењето на Светиот Дух во теологијата на свети Атанасиј Велики и улогата на Духот во спасението на човекот(Православен богословски факултет „Св. Климент Охридски“ Скопје, 2018)Nedeski, ViktorThere are real difficulties in establishing the doctrine of the proceeding of the Holly Spirit at this early stage of Pneumatology, and subsequently in the teaching of St. Athanasius the Great. What remains is the fact that the purpose of St. Athanasius in the Epistles to Serapion of Thmuis was not in any way the question of the proceeding, but the proving of the divinity of the Holy Spirit, based on biblical and traditional principles. The main reason for the divergence of views of modern Eastern and Western scholars on the question of the proceeding of the Holy Spirit in these epistles is not the doctrine of St. Athanasius in itself, but the later theological principles under which scholars are guided, and which would have evolved differently in the eastern and western theological tradition. For St. Athanasius, Christ would be lost as an isolated, inexplicable, historical enigma without the testimony of the Spirit in humanity, and this testimony is greater than any philosophical or dogmatic conception. Thus, it is evident that the meaning of participation in the Holy Trinity is central to the understanding of the entire theological thought of St. Athanasius the Great. Man is able to receive eternal communion with God, not only by simply identifying himself with Christ and His teaching, but by participating in Him. It is made possible by the action of the Holy Spirit. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
