Abstract
Antivascular growth factor(anti-VEGF) therapy in neovascular age-related macular degeneration is currently the standard of care for the treatment and maintenance of visual acuity in wet age-related macular degeneration. Morphological changes such as sub-retinal fluid (SRF), intra-retinal fluid (IRF), fluid under the retinal pigment epithelium (PED) and hyper-reflective material (HRM) are actually anatomical biomarkers that are a quantitative marker for the course, the outcome of the disease and the response to the anti-VEGF medication. Objectives of the study: 1.Monitoring the presence and type of HRM, localization and its morphological characteristics in patients treated with anti-VEGF2 2.The influence of different type of HRM on the stability of the disease evaluated through the fluctuation of morphological markers and the frequency of intravitreal drug applications. 3.Final outcome of visual function and scar formation in patients treated with anti-VEGF. These findings suggest that instability of disease activity is detrimental to optimal anatomic outcome. Further research will be focused on more data validation and specific predictors of instability and response to treatment that may be key to outcome and femoral function in this group of patients. To enable a personalized dosing approach to minimize instability in Boslet activity in neovascular, wet form of senile macular degeneration.
