Abstract
The iconographic program of the oldest frescoes in the
Cathedral of St. Sophia in Ohrid is another indication of the
spiritual and theological greatness of Archbishop Leo of Ohrid.
As archbishop, Leo undoubtedly clashed with Latin worship
practices previously imposed on the territories of his jurisdiction
by Western missionaries. It actually confirms the need for Leo
to express his theological views on some Latin practices on the
walls of St. Sophia of Ohrid.
