Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the levels of the IL-1beta. IL-6 and TNF-alfa
in the humor aqueous and serum in the patients with senile and
diabetic cataract.
Methods: 30 consecutive patients with senile cataract(16) and
diabetic cataract(14), underwent to punctid camera anterior
during the surgery. (ECCE) and blood sapless were took
immediately after the operation. Enzyme linked immunosorbent
assay was performed for detection and measurement of the
interleukins levels.
Results: The production of IL-6 in the humor aqueous in diabetic
cataract was significantly increased compared with the Il-6 in
the samples of the senile cataract(po.05)
Conclusion: The increased production of IL-6 in the humor aqueous
in the patients with diabetic cataract suggest local
production. Those results help for better understanding the
diabetic cataract.
