Clemetia во Proverbium на Vulgata‎

Abstract

The term сlementia in the Latin translation Vulgata is most often used in Proverbium (the Book of Proverbs), although it appears only four times there. This book is a composition of several units; different opinions about the internal division are proposed, but there is a general agreement for the delimitation of the second part of the book (the so-called “Second Collection”, 10,1-22,16). Here сlementia is used three times (at the beginning, in the middle and at the end) and only once at the end of the book. The focus of the theme is set on the different Hebrew terminology for сlementia used by the translator of Vulgata.
