Abstract: The didactics of foreign languages has undergone a major change in the recent decades. Unlike the currents which advocated, for a long period, teaching of the standard language, the new tendencies emphasize the language as it is used in everyday life. The purpose of the present work is to analyze the presence of elements of spoken French in four textbooks of corrective phonetics of French in order to see how this discipline familiarizes French learners with the peculiarities of the familiar register. These textbooks are intended for students of French as a foreign language whose university education has a double objective: to learn the language, but also to become teachers of French or translators / interpreters. The analysis will be structured around three axes: the extent to which the familiar variation is present in the selected textbooks, the areas of phonetics where the colloquial expression is most marked and the ways to approach these elements.
