Abstract
The present paper, ”The resurrection of Christ and the death of man in the theological thinking of St. Justin the New from Celie and Father Dumitru Staniloae”, analyzes the significance of the resurrection of Christ, especially for Christians but also for all people in the world, from the perspective of the theological thinking of Saint Justin the New from Celie (Popovici) and Father Dumitru Stăniloae. The death of man is a real tragedy for contemporary man and is a reality for all of us. For Christians, death is a transition to eternal life and eternal communion with Christ, that is, with God the Holy Trinity. It is important for us to understand the significance of Christ's resurrection and to pass on its importance for understanding our salvation. It is the only act by which human life acquires meaning, especially nowadays when secularism storms people's lives. The teaching of the Orthodox Church about the resurrection can be a perspective to be considered by contemporary man, which will ease the worries of his daily life and the worries that come to mind the death of the body which is inevitable. Saint Justin the New (Popovici) and Father Dumitru Stăniloae are contemporary theologians who, by returning to the theology of the Holy Fathers, have updated the importance of the resurrection of Christ in their theological thinking. This paper highlights the topicality of the words of the two contemporary theologians written about the death of man and the resurrection of Christ.
