Abstract
Most frequent explanation about alpinism and believes that it is not a sport is coming from the directions and thoughts that believe in the following paradigm “within alpinism there is no agonism”.
Alpinism is an activity where individual person is left on his own to overtake the obstacle, to be more precise to climb the rock or the mountain. There is no other person or subject in general to compete with. Defining the physical activities through the terms of sport and recreation means, putting some borders of the meaning of these activities. Definitions should follow the contemporary thoughts and news as well as the new directions. Bordering, by its meaning, is losing a freedom, and especially for the activities that would be not at all productive.
