Abstract
Micah is a prophet of the humble and the poor, who fights against formalism and calls for moral devoutness, and thus for the re-establishment of an authentic relationship with God. It requires a real transformation, and here the formal cult is not useful without a real repentance. It is not a question of a simple controversy on the cult of Israel, but of a very high reflection on the very essence of faith, righteousness, mercy and humility, on what is really good and pleasant in front of God.
