    Semantics and significance of decoration on Macedonian traditional movable furniture from 19th century
    (Faculty of Forestry, University of Zagreb, 2014)
    The analysis of symbolic decoration on movable furniture is a process defi ned by expressing the inner world of thoughts and ideas through the outside, living world. The furniture and other household equip- ments were made with high functionality. Functionality of the furniture was the most important, more precisely its aestetics was a result of functionality. The world of the symbolic decoration was personal, intimate or beloged to the family, and although it was conceived and handmade by self-taught carpenter/the host, analyses reveal deep cosmological links of images with the past and tradition. Therefore, the aim of this paper is to analyze the process of creating the decoration and semantics of the Macedonian traditional movable furniture from the 19th century. Researches and analyses were made in the Republic of Macedonia, more specifi cally in several villages around the mountain of Skopska Crna Gora and in the village Dzepciste from the Tetovo region, and the region of the citty of Veles. Based on measurements of the objects, photos, drawings, foto-documentation, the paper exposed their actual appearance. Based on these drawings, analyses of symbols and forms were made, as well as a deeper analysis of the religious context within which they were made. The analyzes showed that the symbolic decoration of movable furniture in the Macedonian traditional house from the 19th century has its roots in the past as the arche- typal signs follow the furniture through the ages. The purpose of this paper was to analyze cosmological pictures of the furniture, to describe them clearly and in the future perhaps be able to apply them in a new modern context.

    Dragana Trajkovska
    A thematic examination has been made of constructive and aesthetic values in traditional Macedonian architecture in the city of Veles, in order to endorse the architectural categories developed in all national constructive creations on Macedonian ground. Although the examination was focused on one city of Macedonia, we separated the main features of national architecture which are distinctive for this surrounding. The values that differentiate this region from the others were analyzed in detail.. This paper comprises a few methods of examination. These methods helped us to formulate all the parameters used by the national builders. The presented examination leads to the conclusion that national architecture abounds with aesthetic values. The national builder, with his extraordinary building skills, succeeded in presenting them in their true light. Our obligation today is to validate and preserve it in its originality.

    AIM: The aim of this study was to analyse current scientific impact of Published Papers about Interior Design from South East Europe in the Scopus Database (1977-2015). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Title search of the Scopus database was performed on October 02, 2015 about interior design from South East Europe in the Scopus Database (1960-2014). A total number of 5,808 documents worldwide were identified with "interior design" in the title, abstract or keywords. By limitation to South East European countries (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, Kosovo, Moldova, Macedonia, Montenegro, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Italy) only 151 documents were separated (2.6% of all documents). Selected documents were analysed by year, source, author, country/territory, document type, and subject area. RESULTS: The number of publication in the period of 1977-2005 year was very small and was increased with maximum of 19 papers in 2011 year. Three academic journals published most of the papers: Medicina Del Lavoro (14 papers); Work and Design Principles (5 papers), and Practices (4 papers). The biggest number of papers belongs to the author Nicoletti S with 6 papers, followed by Di Leone G, Carino M, Trani G, and Yildirim K (5 papers each). Universities from Turkey and Italy are dominant institutions which published academic papers. Prevalence of the published papers about interior design from South East Europe in the Scopus Database (1977-2015) was from Italy (67 papers), Turkey (55 papers), and Croatia (10 papers). Most of the documents published about Interior Design from South East Europe were articles and conference papers. Subject area medicine was predominant followed by engineering, social sciences, and others. CONCLUSION: Officials of the academic institutions in South East European countries should undertake more effective and proactive policies in order to include more journals in the Scopus database.

    ;
    With this paper it is made an analysis of the concepts for organization of the furniture and furnishing of office spaces. Two different aspects are beeing developed, which are intended for two different business structures and entities. The comparative approach for two functional divergent concepts allows clearer insight in the requests, the possibilities and the capacities of the premise for each specific purpose. Through the project analyzes the potential users of the office space would have detailed review and knowledge for the planning and the design procedures of the concrete space. The organization of the furniture and the remaining arrangement vary in the two project varieties created for them and are much depended on analyses of the anthropometric and ergonomic principles of design being applied in the development of the project varieties. This analysis is made through strategic planning of the office space. With this analysis the users of the office space would have detailed overview of the space in which they should work the arrangement of the furniture and other inventory and also of the way the employees are being arranged in the company and what conditions are provided to them. Also there is a short overview of the ergonomic principles that can be applied. With this method a detailed analysis is provided over the concepts for the organization and furnishing with furniture of office spaces.

    The main goals of the research in this paper are to explain the role of biological - psychophysical and aesthetic in the conceptualization of the architectural space. Research in this direction has been and still is a constant focus of researchers, and in this way, it grows from an initiation into a basis for application in everyday architectural practice. The only possible orientation in this case is interdisciplinary – the use of fundamental knowledge and new research from the fields of human sciences, such as psychology, aesthetics and others. Exploring the architectural space modeling categories, we examine all scientific disciplines that directly and indirectly influence design, planning, design, but also the experience of space as essential parameters in architectural theory and practice.
