    The basis for this scientific work is traditional Macedonian architecture, with emphasis on old doorway of family houses and religious objects (sacral and profane architecture). Ohrid has always been interesting for examination from these aspects, because of the fact that it has lots of historical monuments. The old part of the city contains houses, museums and churches which are one of the quality examples for traditional Macedonian architecture. The main purpose of this paper is to learn more about details in architecture, and of course, the value of details, especially old doors, portals, their dimensions, characteristics, art style, their constructors etc. This is because there is a lot of information originating from literature, books, study works and other written sources about Macedonian traditional architecture, but there is not much information about their details such as doors, windows, portals, etc. These beautiful, genius objects were built in the 19 th century. Today, they attract people who love art with its special charm and beauty, and inspire specialists - architects - for its contemporary application and creation, releasing it from fake values. There are many towns in Macedonia with well-preserved architecture dating from the 19th century: Krushevo, Kratovo, Novo Selo, Tetovo, Debar, Struga, Prilep, Kriva Palanka, Strumica. Central place among them takes Ohrid, in particular ancient Lychinidos.

    The specific socio-historical, cultural-anthropological and economic conditions in Scandinavia have determined the appearance and development of a unique, functional-aesthetic concept of expression through design, which has established itself, in the overall European hierarchy of design, as a prestigious emanator of many styles that appeared later on. In the second half of the 20th century, the intensive development of technology and industry have given rise to design and visual communication as forms of non-verbal, visual conveyance of attitudes and visions. Such conjunctural rise of technology and industry, as well as visual communication as a social practice, have naturally imposed her standards and parameters as a necessary criterion in the evaluation of all forms of artistic expression that is of visual character, including interior and furniture design. The context of treating a certain design concept from the aspect of a wider social function must take into account the interactive relationship between the design and the ambient of its appearance.

    ;
    Macedonian experience in applying ergonomics, ergonometric principles for design of workspace in order to achieve greater productivity and efficiency, are insufficient and approximate. Taking into consideration the great importance of this science, which is always based on the anthropometry of the human body on the one hand, and the measurements taken from the project design for the furniture and the interior on the other hand, it is a valuable tool in the hands of a furniture designer nowadays. The ultimate goal is to get a quality workspace in which the human factor is very important. Through better understanding of the parameters of ergonomics, the designer can improve health and safety in the workplace. Actually, it is the designer’s obligation and task to constantly monitor the developments in the field of ergonomics, in order to implement, maintain and improve the design of furniture. The paper includes the most common ergonomic problems of specific jobs and ways to overcome them. Only by qualitative understanding of the human factor, his/her job, staffing, work environment and interactive relations that exist between them, will modern designers be able to produce healthy and safe designs, thus creating effective and productive working systems.
