    Long terms results of surgical therapy on strabismus

    This study deals with a comparative analysis of the postoperative results in the treatment of infantile constant esotropia by means of tenotomy and partial myotomy and other surgical approach (recession, resection and elongation of the ocular muscles). The aim of the study was to confirm the advantage of partial tenotomy and myotomy in the surgery of strabismus. The experiences of many years and the obtained results in the application of partial tenotomy and myotomy on strabismus with long lasting effects.

    Selekted interleukins levels in aqueous and serum of patients with cataract extraction

    Aim: To determine the interleukins profile?II-1, IL-6 and TNF/in humor aqueous and serum of patients with senile or diabetic cataracts. Material and methods: Aqueous humor was taken from patients during Extracapsular Cataract Extraction/15 patients with senile cataract and 20 with diabetic cataract .Also samples from the peripheral blood were taken and interleukins were measured in both aqueous and serum by means of an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA).Results will be discussed. Conclusion: Interleukins may play the role in the inflammation process after the Extracapsular Cataract Extraction.

    A sporadic case of bilateral nasal and temporal pterygium on both eyes is present in this abstract. After four operations on all pterigia with limbal conjunctival autotransplantation from superior and inferior part of the bulbar conjunctiva there was no recurrence of the pterygium. The postoperative vision was improved. Pathohistological investigation of the pterygium samples confirmed the diagnosis.
