Abstract
Pedagogy, as in the past, in the present, but also in the future, has undergone, undergoes and will undergo many changes because society is progressing at a tremendous pace, and as a social science it has the task of keeping pace with the changes and ensuring that educates the participants in a way that will enable them to function easily in the society in which they live. Today, when enrolling children in elementary education, an assessment by the professional service is made, with the expert worker deciding whether the child is ready to acquire the title "pupil". This assessment is of vast significance, both for pedagogy as a science and for the further comprehensive development of children. This study deals with the assessment carried out by pedagogues and pedagogical staff in the Republic of Macedonia. The research was conducted in 36 municipalities and it involved 115 elementary schools that are within the territory of the Republic of Macedonia.
The research is theoretical, empirical, quantitative, qualitative and contemporary since it is intended for a current problem in the field of education in the Republic of Macedonia.
The survey provided relevant data on the quality and ways of implementing the assessment of the development of children by the experts/associates, as well as the techniques and instruments used for its realization.
