Abstract: Road maintenance is a complex engineering - economic task, which implies a set of measures taken to enable the normal exploitation, safety of road transport and the preservation of the value of the road network and equipment. The complexity of maintenance is evident in the complex work process, often without interruption of traffic (the so-called "work under traffic"), at all times of the year. The main purpose of winter maintenance is to provide uninterrupted and safe traffic to all traffic participants. Adverse weather impacts during the winter expressed through low temperatures, snow and ice on the pavement can significantly reduce throughput and road service levels, or ultimately cause traffic congestion.
