To write about Njegos and his epic “Ray of Microcosm” in this post-postmodern 21st century is especially difficult, but it is also a challenge, considering the exquisite works of N. Banashevic, I. Sekulic, A. Savic-Rebac, M. Flashar etc., which impels us to double the perspective. The proposed route of investigation includes several aspects – the problem of confining this epic to classicistic boundaries, the existence of taxonomic conclusion (structural and functional), and the necessity of exploring this epic from a dislocated perspective (from postmodern deconstruction to reconstruction of values and ideological positions). This analysis signifies an attempt to apply, and also to “rearrange” the theoretical possibilities of Foucauldian and Barthes’ insights into the notion of discourse. That attempt will demonstrate how contemporary and unlimited this epic discourse truly is.en_US
