Abstract
Since business process management is becoming a promising concept
fo r managing organizations and improving their organizational performance,
not only in manufacturing sector, which is traditionally considered as process
oriented sector, but in the service industries as well, the goal o f this paper is
to empirically explore the adoption o f BPM practices and to analyze the level
o f process maturity inservice vs. manufacturing companies in the Republic o f
Macedonia. The analysis is performed on the basis o f the BPO maturity model
o f McCormack and Johnson (2001). The summarized findings indicate that
manufacturing companies are more process-oriented than service providers
in our sample.This situation also continues to exist with few er differences
between manufacturers and service providers.
