Transnational Leadership Influenced By Aspects Of Emotional Intelligence(Asociaţia de Cooperare Cultural-Educaţională Suceava, 2017); ; ; Taneva-Veshovska, AngelinaThe purpose of the research is to empirically evaluate leadership behavior of managers, focusing on transformational vs. transnational leadership at the same time exploring the relationship between emotional intelligence and transformational leadership in a specific economic and cultural setting, as the Republic of Macedonia. Questionnaire-based survey on managers at different management levels in Macedonian companies was conducted in order obtain the data necessary for evaluating the leadership styles and testing the proposed hypotheses The data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and hierarchical regression analysis. Results indicate that leaders in Macedonian companies show higher affection towards transformational leadership. The ability to perceive and understand emotions and the ability to manage emotions have a positive impact on transformational leadership style. As a theoretical and practical implication of research, we aim to generalize the idea for the positive relationship between the emotional intelligence and transformational leadership by confirming the applicability of the model that examines this relationship in the case of the Republic of Macedonia - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Knowledge overconfidence among entrepreneurs from Austria and North Macedonia(Nomos Verlag, 2022) ;Ilieva, Viktorija; ; ; <p>Entrepreneurial decision-making is often characterized by unrealistic optimism. This so-called “overconfidence bias” has consequently received an increasing amount attention from the authors of literature on entrepreneurship research. Most empirical studies, however, that target the overconfidence bias have been conducted with students or samples from the general population. This study contributes to the entrepreneurial decision-making literature by explicitly targeting entrepreneurs from Austria and North Macedonia (n = 187), defined as individuals who have started their own businesses or are in the process of doing so. The entrepreneurs were asked to complete a general-knowledge questionnaire and to estimate the accuracy of their answers. The results suggest that the most of these entrepreneurs exhibit overconfidence (and some, underconfidence) with regard to the accuracy of their knowledge. Significant differences were observed between the bias scores and confidence scores of the Austrian and Macedonian respondents, but not the accuracy scores. The so-called “hard-easy effect,” which indicates that individuals display overconfidence when answering hard questions, but underconfidence when answering easy questions, was observed among the Austrian but not among the Macedonian entrepreneurs. </p> - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, SMALL BUSINESS GROWTH IN THE CONTEXT OF TOURISM(Faculty of Economics University of East Sarajevo, 2018-02-19); The discussion evolves around the concept of small business considering specific characteristics and especially external factors influencing their performance,more specifically their growth. Analysis related to small business have noticeably grown in the last twenty years,being for a long time out shined by the global dominance of large businesses operations. The huge presence of small businesses in any economy provides a basis for reviewing various aspects related to their operations. In terms of the increasing importance of small business for the recovery and growth of world economy, the characteristics of small businesses are relevant and important research areas. Small businesses have been considered to be dominant in areas where conducting business is strongly influenced by tourism.This paper is oriented strongly towards the issues and settings of small business with a focus on those situated in the touristic region of Ohrid, Macedonia. Hence the purpose of this research effort is to determine whether the growth of small businesses is influenced by different aspects,especially the regional aspect of being active in a touristic region. The empirical research includes 89 companies from the most prominent touristic destination in Macedonia, the city of Ohrid. Item type:Publication, Changing organizational culture by promoting values that encourage teamwork(2020-07); The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of underlying culture values on teamwork as one of the most important employee behaviors and as a possible explanatory mechanism (means) through which managers affect their organizational effectiveness, such as job satisfaction and commitment. The main focus of the research is directed to the relations between the organizational culture and teamwork in different aspects: currently dominating organizational cultures in the organizations, preferred organizational cultures by the organizational members, as well as the current and preferred mix of the four CVF’s organizational culture types. Macedonian private and state-owned companies and institutions constitute the population of this study. We run a multiple regression and correlation analysis on CVF’s culture types on teamwork level in organizations. The results indicate that only clan culture has a positive correlation with the teamwork level. It means that the clan culture promotes values that encourage teamwork in organizations. The analysis of the results provides input for managers, who can adopt, apply, and promote values of a particular organizational culture type that encourages the teamwork level in the organizations. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Unveiling the nexus between empathy and leadership in the production sector(The Faculty of Economics - Prilep , University “St. Kliment Ohridski” – Bitola., 2024-06) ;Miklosh Bojan; Work in the production and manufacturing sector is characterized by following strict procedures, meeting norms and targets, upholding standards, and producing results and products that are entering the market. Considering these characteristics, leading people and teams in this context may pose a challenge, especially if the leaders are not aware of their emotional intelligence or, are lacking crucial social skills, thus reflecting and embedding various norms in the organizational culture. Experts have been researching organizational cultures, as well as the relationship between leadership styles and emotional intelligence, building knowledge on findings, usually following Dr. Goleman’s scholarly work. Thus, the focus of the research in this manuscript is directed toward exploiting empirical data to explore specific leadership styles in relation to emotional intelligence within a specific organizational context- the manufacturing sector. Drawing insights from 125 respondents, this research utilizes a questionnaire designed with validated research instruments. Findings reveal a strong overall correlation value between leadership styles and emotional intelligence competencies, especially emphasizing the link to transformational styles. The results reveal an interesting combination of leadership styles and emotional intelligence competencies. Namely, the commanding and visionary leadership styles emerge as the most prevalent styles, and empathy and conflict management as the only emotional intelligence competencies with an above-average value. The least mastered EI competence in the production sector is the emotional self-control, opening a field of opportunities for development and improvement. DESIGNATION OF ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE USING DIFFERENTIATION STRATEGY INSTRUMENTS – AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS(Vilnius Gediminas Technical University, 2020-03-06) ;Islami, Xhavit; ; <jats:p>Considering pursuing the differentiation strategy makes enable the organization to earn its success and to create, capture and sustain economic value. Despite this importance, it is relatively absentminded in empirical studies at the conceptual level. In response to this gap, the purpose of this paper is conceptualizing differentiation strategy model, developing the instruments of differentiation strategy, and testing the relationship between dimensions of the value chain, differentiation in the supply, competitive advantages, and organizational performance, using data from a sample of 123 manufacturing organizations. On this study, quantitative methods were applied to measure the proposed relationships, and questionnaires were used as a tool in gathering primary data. Relationships proposed in the framework were tested using structural equation modeling. The results of this study indicated that pursuing the differentiation strategy leads on increasing competitive advantage and improving organizational performance. Also, it pointed out that the manufacture organizations’ success is determined by their ability to be flexible on strategic planning and on integrating internal and industrial settings factors on differentiation strategy creating. This research contributes to strategic literature clarifying a successful differentiation model helping the practitioners on increasing the ability and knowledge on pursuing the differentiation strategy.</jats:p> - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Furthermore, the recent challenges posed by the pandemic have further complicated the intricate landscape of the business world. This realm gives rise to a multitude of diverse discussions, yet remains a topic commonly deliberated among scholars with a focus on productivity perspectives. While research papers on Digital Transformation have undergone progressive development over time, their quantity has witnessed a significant surge only recently. This scholarly article makes reference to pertinent scientific contributions spanning various tiers, accentuating and immersing within the context of North Macedonia. The research delves into the components of digital transformation, encompassing facets pertaining to the magnitude of information and communication, nuances of business modeling, and enhancements of business processes. Notably, the success of Digital Transformation is heavily contingent upon modifications in process and operations management. It is crucial to recognize that merely incorporating information technology is insufficient for effecting IT-enabled changes.The empirical analysis embraced a dual-phase approach involving consecutive rounds of questionnaires. The initial phase centered around closed-ended questions, while the subsequent phase involved interviews featuring open-ended inquiries. The results were subject to both quantitative and qualitative assessment, drawing insights from a diverse array of industries. These insights pertained to their digital transformation processes, predominantly aligning with respondents' perceptions of productivity. In this vein, the research endeavor seeks to make a geographical contribution by identifying variables associated with the digitalization or digital transformation processes within companies situated in North Macedonia. The findings imply that there is a biased response from various stakeholders, indicating a modest correlation between the process of change and productivity. Item type:Publication, Discovering the Relationship between Leadership Styles and Organizational Commitment: The Case of the Private Sector of a Developing Country(2024-07-12) ;Krasniqi, Tringë; There has been great interest evolving around leadership ever since so, scholars have been challenged by various variables that have been considered relevant for discovering some of the complexities related to leaders. The output orientation of organizational commitment and employee engagement naturally seeks a relationship with leadership. Hence discovering the relationships among leadership and organizational commitment considering the context of Kosovo is one of the main aims of this paper. The presented work reflects three leadership styles that will be considered: laissez-faire, transactional, and transformational, and three dimensions of organizational commitment: affective, normative, and continuance. The main aim is oriented towards understanding relationships and what they will bring to the organizational context. At this stage, the paper utilizes Pearson’s Correlation, whereas collected data was gathered through questionnaires distributed to employees and managers in the private sector in Kosovo. A total of 202 samples were collected using random sampling from diverse industries including retail, manufacturing, service, construction, and wholesale. The results of this paper provide some insights and, in this respect, confirm that leadership styles have a moderate positive correlation with organizational commitment. That implies that organizational commitment will eventually determine leadership in organizations and in this line bring forward new possible discussions in the respective field. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, 2020-11-14); ; In our research, we aim to extend the debate about the new role of universities as an entrepreneurial ecosystem, by examining some underlying and fundamental, but very important dimensions for further and deeper examinations of this subject such as university ownership, field of study and the entrepreneurial education concentration within, as well as the university environment and learning programs. The research considers an analysis based on major implications proposed by the GUESSS Project (Global University Entrepreneurial Spirit Students' Survey) to generate in-depth insights into students’ entrepreneurial intentions. A hierarchical multiple regression was run to determine the effect of different variables related to university ecosystem on entrepreneurial intention of student population. The data comes from the GUESSS survey 2018, conducted at state and private universities in North Macedonia, with undergraduate and postgraduate students. A sample of 398 respondents was collected. The study contributes to the existing literature on nascent entrepreneurship and start-up behaviour in understanding the impact of key elements of an entrepreneurial ecosystem within a university on student start-up activity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Emotional intelligence building leadership perspectives in the educational sector(KNOWLEDGE – International Journal (KIJ), 2024-08-17) ;Miklosh, Bojan; Education serves as the cornerstone of society, facilitating its growth and prosperity. Consequently, understanding how leadership perspectives are shaped becomes crucial. Scholars have long been fascinated by uncovering the interconnections among leadership, organizational culture, and emotional intelligence, a discussion spearheaded by Goleman. However, the persistence of traditional educational paradigms poses an additional challenge. Thus, the focus of this manuscript shifts towards leveraging empirical data to explore specific leadership styles in relation to emotional intelligence within a distinct context. Drawing insights from 110 respondents, this research utilizes a questionnaire designed with validated research instruments. Findings reveal a strong correlation between emotional intelligence and leadership styles, particularly highlighting a pronounced inclination towards transformational leadership. Notably, within the educational sector, commanding leadership emerges as the most prevalent style, followed by visionary leadership. Empathy, a key emotional intelligence competence, exhibits the lowest correlation with commanding style but the highest with affiliative leadership. Additionally, the research reveals that emotional self-control is the least developed emotional intelligence skill among educational professionals in the Republic of North Macedonia, indicating a vital area requiring enhancement and growth. This study reaffirms the interdependent relationship between leadership and emotional intelligence within organizational settings.
