Abstract: Serbian National Interoperability Framework intends to be a set of policies, standards and guidelines that the government uses to specify the preferred way, how its agencies, citizens and partners interact with each other. The aim of the National Interoperability Framework is to increase public sector efficiency by improving the quality of services provided at local, national and later on, in accordance with the EU regulations, at cross-border level, in the benefit of the citizens and businesses, and increasing the competitiveness of the country. This paper presents the process of creation of the Serbian National Interoperability Framework and analyses the current state of the National Interoperability Frameworks in Europe and in the SEE region.
