Abstract: We aimed to conduct a functional analysis of the vegetables supply chain in the Republic of North Macedonia as part of the country’s introduction and implementation of EU Common Market Organisation measures. A previously defined methodology for value chain analysis was implemented at traders, processors, and distributers’ level to assess the current situation and sector performance in implementation of market and quality standards. The results presented the low implementation of the market standards along the supply chain with the exception of the processing industry at output level. Lack of traceability system for the product origin and product quality is evident at all stages of the supply chain, creating difficulties for quantification of the trade with vegetables on the domestic market
