Information System for Mapping the Coverage of Reference Curriculum Guidelines in the Teaching Curricula of a Higher-Education Institution

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a project of the introduction of a specialized Information System for mapping the coverage of knowledge topics as given in reference curriculum guidelines established by renowned world organizations (such as ACM and IEEE in the area of computing), as a step to enable the establishment of a qualitative, and not just quantitative process to reforming the existing curricula and introduction of new knowledge areas or topics in order to foster improvement in teaching capacities and capabilities.
