Abstract
In the Indo-European languages there are many words for love, which are derived from different Indo-European roots. This variety on one hand comes out of the need to denote all the different aspects of love. On the other hand it is indicative of the individual development of thе lexeme love in every language family. The aim of this paper is to make a survey of the words used in the Macedonian language and to analyze their semantic development as a contribution to the etymological dictionary of the Macedonian language.
