Abstract: Advanced technologies have changed the ways of creating, broadcasting, marketing and storing different modalities of communication, they opened up space for the emergence of “new media”, especially “social media”, which, due to their interactive nature, are very effective form of two-way communication allowing the position of the “other side” or the audience to be heard. The new media, especially the so-called “social media” are facing, as well as traditional media, with a large number of ethical dilemmas: a platform for discussion and deleting the “bad comments”, respect for the privacy of members, the issue of social needs and interests of members, the reality of social exclusion et al., and the reason is the lack of clearly and precisely created regulatory mechanisms of action that would be accepted and practiced by users of these media. These are just part of the ethical dilemma faced by the new media, i.e. social media, undertaken by the authors of this text.
