Item type:Publication, Glass - steel hybrid elements under four point bending test(Centre for Evaluation in Education and Science (CEON/CEES), 2015); ; ; Problems evolving from the brittleness of structural glass result in need of innovative solutions which will improve the post-breakage behavior of the elements in the structure. As the need of the glass performance gets higher, the fully tempered glass gets in the focus and its usage becomes greater. But although this type of glass gives great performance with its tensile strength and deflection capacity, it has no residual strength. Due to its breakage pattern into small pieces the collapse of the element may be instant even in laminated glass elements. Thus, increasing the post breakage behavior is crucial in order to keep the integrity of the tempered glass element. This can be done either by changing the inter layer properties, or including kind of reinforcement in the element structure. This paper presents experimental testing of the performances of steel plate reinforced hybrid glass element under four point bending test. As a result, it shows the improvement in mechanical behavior of the described hybrid structure concept compared to a monolithic glass element with same dimensions, by means of stress distribution and reinforcement capacity. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Modeling of single-fillet lap joint in Solidworks Simulation(Centre for Evaluation in Education and Science (CEON/CEES), 2016); ; The aim of the work presented in this paper is to show the applicability of Solidworks Simulation module for calculation of welded structural joints. The presentation is performed through a simple model of axially loaded single-fillet lap joint. Solidworks Simulation offers several options for FEM analysis of welded joints. All reasonable options are exploited and their results are compared in this paper. The reference values are used to validate the results of FEM analysis. They are calculated based on formulas described in Eurocode 3 part 8 which refer to design resistance of fillet welds. FEM analysis is conducted in latest version of Solidworks Simulation 2015 and older version 2012. Results obtained in both versions differ from each other under same starting conditions. Finally, the paper provides recommendations for reliability of the Solidworks Simulation to be used as design tool for calculating welded joints. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, APPLICATION OF PULSED EDDY CURRENT TECHNIQUE FOR INSPECTION OF INSULATED PIPES(Faculty of mechanical engineering- Skopje, 2024) ;Krstevska, Aleksandra ;Serafimovski, Filip; ; In this paper the use of Pulsed Eddy Current (PEC) technique is analyzed for inspecting insulated pipes, commonly used in industries such as power generation, petrochemical, and oil and gas. PEC technique uses pulsed electromagnetic fields to generate eddy currents in the conductive material, allowing detection in wall thickness and material integrity. In the experimental part an insulated pipe is investigated with the PEC technique for corrosion or wall thinning defect of the material, without the need to remove the insulation. The paper involves experimental testing on insulated pipe of structural steel with composite insulation and the results show the potential of PEC as a reliable tool for maintenance and inspection, especially for reducing operational costs and downtime associated with insulation removal. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Weldability of austenitic heat-resisting steels(Serbian Welding Society, 2024) ;Grncharevska, Elena; ; ; Krstevska, AleksandraAustenitic heat-resisting steels are used in a wide range of industries. Their use is motivated not only by their excellent mechanical properties but also due to their excellent resistance to corrosion and the ability to withstand high temperatures. These steels are prone to defects and challenges during welding because of their high content of Cr, Ni, Al, and other alloying elements. The main problem is the high heat energy input, which causes differences in structure between the welded joint and the surrounding area. The relatively high heat input and cooling in the heat-affected zone (HAZ) causes carbide formation and, as a result, coarse grain formation, which is undesirable for obtaining favourable mechanical properties. This study investigates the weldability of two heatresistant austenitic steels (EN X12CrNi23-13 and EN X8CrNi25-21) using the gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) technique. Both materials are separately analyzed, and the results are discussed in terms of potential welding techniques and technological plan improvements to achieve highquality welds without pre-heating or any other additional post-welding heat treatment, which is important for the industry because it can reduce production time and cost. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, PROCEDURES OF WELDING METAL PRODUCTS WITH MIG/MAG ROBOT WELDING(Mechanical engineering scientific journal, 2023) ;Krstevska, Aleksandra; This research paper describes robot welding programming and different approach of three appli-cations in manufacturing processes by welding. It gives an overview of robot manipulator and its main components. For the experimental work a 6-axis robot arm is used and three different welds are made. Detailing of programming for every example with or without synchronization with the positioner and the trajectory is discussed. The paper presents steps of software development for online programming of a robot arm with or without synchronization. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
