Item type:Publication, CARDIAC ARREST IN THE EARLY POSTOPERATIVE PERIOD(Department of Anaesthesia and Reanimation, Faculty of Medicine, “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” University Skopje, R.N.Macedonia, 2021-03) ;Burmuzoska M ;Toleska M ;Leshi A; Grncharevski MIn-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA) is determined as acute circulatory loss which requires fast resuscitation with chest compressions and/or defibrillation. Despite that it is a common condition, little research is done in this area, and many data are extracted from out-hospital cardiac arrest guidelines and researches. Perioperative cardiac arrest patients are a subclass of surgical patients who need CPR on the day of surgery. In this article, through a case report about successful reanimation, the in-hospital and perioperative cardiac arrest characteristics are discussed. A young female patient presented with cardiac arrest, 30 minutes after arriving in PACU and acute pulmonary embolism was the most suspected cause of the arrest. She was reanimated for around 30 minutes and she recovered without any neurological impairment. Perioperative cardiac arrest must be distinguished from other cardiac arrests and ACLS guidelines should be targeted according to particular situations. These patients require rapid evaluation and quick management, because usually there is a potentially reversible cause. As quickly as the cause is identified, as much the chances of ROSC are bigger - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, Right-sided colonic diverticulitis in the young population(Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, 2023-12); ; Although it is a condition of the elderly, diverticular disease (especially in the right colon) is seen in patients under the age of 50. In the past two decades, there have been an increasing number of reports on right-sided colon diverticulitis in the young population. Etiological and epidemiological studies give us partial answers on the occurrence of this condition. The sidedness and the fact that it occurs in younger populations makes this condition actual in terms of early and proper diagnosis thus avoiding unnecessary surgical explorative laparoscopies, laparotomies, appendectomies, etc. Most of the cases with acute right-sided colonic diverticulitis are mild, thus requiring a conservative treatment. However, complicated right-sided colonic diverticulitis is treated with some kind of intervention (percutaneous drainage or surgery). No treatment guidelines are present yet and the approach should be individualized and tailored according to the patient's condition and the severity of the diverticulitis. In case of a clinical deterioration, surgery should be considered regardless open or minimally invasive. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

- Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Teniss elbow: Its origins and treatment(Faculty of Physical Education, Sport and Health in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia, 2016); ; ; ; Tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis is a type of repetitive strain injury, resulting from tendon overuse and failed healing of the tendon. The extensor carpi radialis brevis muscle plays a key role. This disease is a very common cause of the elbow pain in people and athletes between the ages of 30 and 50 years old. Aim: The aim is to present origins and treatment of tennis elbow or lateral epicondylitis. Material and methods: The study included 90 patients having tennis elbow, and they were divided to two groups according to different conservative treatment. Clinical and radiographic examinations (X-ray, ultrasonography and MRI) were analyzed during the evaluation. In this retrospective study 2 patients were followed with colour Doppler ultrasound. Results: Exactly 80 patients became symptom-free and regained normal function after 1 year. 6 patients in group 1 and 4 patients in group 2 returned 1 year later complaining persistent pain of the area of elbow, and minimized the participation in sportive activities. Item type:Publication, Drug Induced Acute Pancreatitis(SHMSHM - AAMD, 2016) ;Spirovska, Tatjana; ; ; Mikjunovikj, LjubicaAcute pancreatitis is a severe disease with considerable morbidity and mortality. Drug-induced acute pancreatitis is rare, with an estimated incidence of 0.1-2%. More than 100 drugs have been implicated in causing the disease: acetaminophen has been associated with acute pancreatitis in cases where there has been an overdose of drugs; however, the frequency is rare. Based on analysis of the level of evidence, 4 classes of drugs could be identified. We report the case of a 28-year-old man who presented abdominal pain and elevated pancreatic enzymes suggesting acute pancreatitis, severe metabolic acidosis and systemic inflammatory response syndrome after overdosing on a drug containing acetaminophen. He was taking acetaminophen more than 5 g every day two weeks.Workup including an ultrasound,CT scan, microbiological and serological analysis failed to reveal any obvious etiology for the pancreatitis. The possibility of drug-induced pancreatitis was considered and acetaminophen was thought to be the probable etiologic agent and discontinued. A review of the relevant literature is also presented. Drug-induced acute pancreatitis is challenging for clinicians and a detailed mechanism is unknown. It is very important to rule out drug-induced pancreatitis when treating pancreatitis with an unknown etiology.
