Item type:Publication, Empowering Academic Excellence: A Case Study of Student-Faculty Collaboration in Developing and Maintaining IT Solutions at FCSE(2024-04-20) ;Atanasoska, Elena ;Marojevikj, Bojana ;Todorovska, Ana; Bidikov, VladislavThe Faculty of Computer Science and Engineer ing (FCSE) at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in North Macedonia has adopted an innovative approach to develop and maintain IT solutions through student-faculty collaboration. This paper presents a case study of this collaboration, focusing on projects undertaken within the Web Programming course. Through the integration of students into the development and management of services, FCSE addresses operational challenges while providing students with valuable learning experiences. The paper outlines the implementation strategy, emphasizing the use of a centralized database and multiple web applications aligned with course content. Furthermore, it discusses the increasing student enrollment in the course, indicating growing interest and participation in collaborative projects. Overall, this paper highlights the benefits of this collaborative approach in preparing students for future endeavors in web development and fostering continuous improvement within FCSE. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Comparison of DDOS detection methods in real world scenario(Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Republic of North Macedonia, 2023-07) ;Bidikov, VladislavIn this paper we will see the current and new developed methods for distributed denial of service attack (DDOS) detection. We will also see some of the possibility for mitigation of attacks in scenarios where they are detected sooner. We will use data from the DDOS attack in June/August/September 2022 on the Faculty and learn valuable lessons from there. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Microcontroller Based Ambinent Led Lighting(Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, 2012) ;Bidikov, VladislavEfficient room lighting was always a real challenge especially in these modern times where energy efficient solutions are always more than welcome. On the other hand LED technology was always on the most economical and efficient way of providing lighting. The main problem we always face with LED is that in order to properly generate the right ambient colour we need the right combination on the R/G/B based LED system. Usually, given such a task, a preferable choice is a microcontroller. However, programming such a system is always a challenge. In this paper we will show how a modern Atmel microcontroller combines with the opensource Arduino platform. We will present how using little supporting electronics a PWM based RGB LED light system can be built. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Implementation and Management of Fcse Laboratories Environment(Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, 2012) ;Bidikov, Vladislav ;Kjiroski, KirilThe Computer Center at Faculty of Computer Sciences and Engineering worNs on continual improving the networN environment at the campus, through implementation of modern technologies. These technologies enable better worN environment for students as well as faculty staff. Due to the fact that the faculty has a substantial number of laboratories with worNstations and personal computers, improvement of the networN security and networN performance represents a Ney factor in the worNing process. In order to achieve these goals, the FCC team combines software solutions which provide efficient networN management, and fast and optimized deployment of software on the computers at campus laboratories. Due to the past experience, as well as experimentation with current Open-source software solutions, we decided to implement ClearOS as a tool for networN management, and we chose FOG as a PXE image solution for the deployment of software. Used software provides scalable and user friendly solutions which enable fast and easy deployment. The initial implementation resulted in increased networN manageability as well as rapid deployment of campus computers. As a result, the FCSE Computer Center can promptly respond to the dynamic changes in needed and used software for teaching and learning processes at the faculty. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Scenarios for Carrying Out the Competition in informatics with Specific Outdated Hardware(Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, 2012); ;Spasovski, StefanBidikov, VladislavCompetitions in informatics are usually synonyms for algorithmic programming contests. A lot of programming contests in the world use automatic grading of the contestants’ solutions. Contestant should be able to upload the programming code as a solution for a given problem that he/she produced on a specific computer environment, real time. In this paper we present the problem of providing the right hardware for carrying out the competition, and discuss the possible solutions while using obsolete hardware. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Transition from the classroom to online educational environment: First impressions(Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia, 2020-05-08); ;Bidikov, Vladislav ;Kjiroski, Kiril; With the world pandemic caused by the COVID19 virus, the lectures at the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE), at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Republic of North Macedonia, were fully transferred online within the first week of the start of the imposed movement and public gathering limitations by the Government of North Macedonia. After two weeks of the start of the classes, we performed a survey for both students and faculty teaching staff to gather the initial sentiment for the online classes and to identify opinions, suggestions for best practices and possible obstacles. In this paper, we present the technological solutions used to give the lectures and the results of the initial surveys. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
