The Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering (FCSE) within UKIM is the largest and most prestigious faculty in the field of computer science and technologies in Macedonia, and among the largest
faculties in that field in the region.
The FCSE teaching staff consists of 50 professors and 30 associates. These include many “best in field” personnel, such as the most referenced scientists in Macedonia and the most influential professors in the ICT industry in the Republic of Macedonia.

Item type:Publication, Review of Natural Language Processing in Pharmacology(2022-08-22); ;Vangel Trajkovski ;Makedonka Dimitrieva ;Jovana DobrevaNatural language processing (NLP) is an area of artificial intelligence that applies information technologies to process the human language, understand it to a certain degree, and use it in various applications. This area has rapidly developed in the last few years and now employs modern variants of deep neural networks to extract relevant patterns from large text corpora. The main objective of this work is to survey the recent use of NLP in the field of pharmacology. As our work shows, NLP is a highly relevant information extraction and processing approach for pharmacology. It has been used extensively, from intelligent searches through thousands of medical documents to finding traces of adversarial drug interactions in social media. We split our coverage into five categories to survey modern NLP methodology, commonly addressed tasks, relevant textual data, knowledge bases, and useful programming libraries. We split each of the five categories into appropriate subcategories, describe their main properties and ideas, and summarize them in a tabular form. The resulting survey presents a comprehensive overview of the area, useful to practitioners and interested observers. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, A Comparative Analysis of HOTP and TOTP Authentication Algorithms. Which one to choose?(Scientific Technical Union of Mechanical Engineering" Industry 4.0", 2021) ;Andonov, Stefan ;Jovana Dobreva ;Lina Lumburovska ;Mihajloska Trpcheska HristinaGiving the right access, limiting resources, and recognizing a user’s identity are important steps that need to be taken into consideration before entering a certain network. These steps are executed by authentication and authorization. In this paper, we put our focus on authentication algorithms HOTP and TOTP as two algorithms for generating one-time passwords. A one-time password is an automatically generated string of characters - a password that is meant to be used only once. This password is only valid for one login session or transaction. Due to its randomness and usage (only once), it leads to higher security outputs, and that is why this type of password is used in authentication algorithms. We will analyse both algorithms and their working way and will present the obtained results and their usage in practice. The main characteristic is that the HOTP algorithm uses only hash functions and the TOTP algorithm uses time above the hash. To check when each algorithm is better to use, we need to know the given environment and circumstances. In this paper, we will try to answer the question” Which one is better at a particular time?”. Depending on many factors that we analyse through the sections, we are going to make conclusions that will be useful for future planning of good security passwords. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Secure ECash Payment Method Based on Pseudo-Random Functions in Centralized and Decentralized Systems(Ss Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering, Republic of North Macedonia, 2020-05-08) ;Lina Lumburovska ;Vesna Dimitrova, ;Stefan Andonov ;Keti Isajloska and Jovana DobrevaJovana DobrevaOne of the first online payment systems was eCash, which was discovered in the previous century and is still used worldwide. In this communication system, we are talking about more participants and contributors, but the main characters are the buyer and the seller. Their identity should stay anonymous and that is what this protocol can afford. Taking into consideration its advantages and disadvantages, the system works in real life centralized and decentralized systems and is spreading its usage to a higher level. Maintaining secure protocol must be obtained, so we discussed a few methods in order to achieve this property. We have also shown some basic principals for good implementation and what should be fulfilled in order to provide the best version of the eCash payment system. Basically, starting from the beginnings of eCash, we studied its implementation and design and then presented its security aspects and how this system works in eeal life examples in both centralized and decentralized systems.
