Needs and Possibilities of Development of the Macedonian Motorways
    (Springer, Cham, volume 692, 2017)
Slobodan Ognjenovic, Tamara Narezhnaya, Zlatko zafirovski, Ivana Nedevska
The road network has been compared to the human blood circulation since the beginning of its development, the analogy referring to both its function and its hierarchically arranged and branching structure. In other words, the balanced development and the coordinated function, starting from the main arteries (motorways) until to the capillary system (local roads) is a precondition to the overall rationality of the existence and development of the organism (the country) and its vital functions (e.-g economy).

    Environmental Impact of Traffic Noise
(Department of Transportation Faculty of Civil Engineering University of Zagreb, 2016)
Riste Ristov, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Ivana Nedevska
The traffic systems, beside their economic and social advantage, have a negative impact as well as sources of significant environmental pollution in the area they are located. During planning and designing of the traffic communication, special attention needs to be paid to strict adherence of certain basic principles on environmental protection. The specificity of this issue can be seen in the multidimensional traffic impact on the environment. Regardless whether it concerns a human, an animal in urban surrounding or an animal in nature, the impact of noise is almost the same for everyone. As a consequence of the noise, problems can occur from psychological or physiological aspect, auditory perception might be damaged or lost for everyone. It is certain that the human is most resistant to the noise, so it can easily adjust and protect from the same. Most unfavourable impact the noise would have on animals in nature, for which the overexposure to noise would have extensive consequences both for finding food and reproduction. As follows, this paper will include the impacts and consequences of overexposed traffic noise on the environment

Analysis of the Offer and Demand for the Transportation of People from a Settlement in the City of Skopje
(MATEC Web of Conferences, Volume 170, 2017)
Zlatko Zafirovski, Vasko Gacevski, Zoran Krakutovski, Slobodan Ognjenovic
Transportation planning is a complex task and a major challenge that plays primary role in the development of the economic processes in the exchange of people and goods. There are several approaches from which transport can be analysed. As an economic activity transport is analysed in terms of offer and demand. The offer of transport is an offer of given capacity which can transported from one place to another. The offer analysis is made in relation to the demand for transport which is made by the individuals that travel or the firms and industrial facilities that want to transport goods. An initial representation of the theoretical approach in the analysis of the transport of people through the description of a specific case is shown in this paper

METHODOLOGY FOR ANALYSING CAPACITY AND LEVEL OF SERVICE FOR INTERSECTION AT BLVD GOCE DELCEV AND BLVD KRSTE PETKOV MISIRKOV - SKOPJE (HCM 2000/2010)
(Proceedings of the Second International Conference "Transport for Today's Society", 2018)
Ivana Nedevska, Radojka Donceva, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Riste Ristov
The augmentation of motorization level leads us to the need for mobility and demands better infrastructure, in urban and suburban areas. The complexity of this problem is especially notable in urban areas where the space delimitations, functional characteristics and different transportation must be considered. The intersection between boulevard Krste Petkov Misirkov and boulevard Goce Delcev, in Skopje, has been analyzed with the methodology for capacity and level of service, according to HCM. Both boulevards are with three lanes before the intersection, and two additional lanes for left and right turns in the intersection area, and this is one of the most frequent intersections in Skopje. Number of vehicles is determined by measuring the traffic, and those inputs are used to analyze three solutions: the current solution (signalized intersection), roundabout and junction (leveled roundabout). Anyway, this analysis is based on custom measurements within a week

IMPLEMENTATION OF ROAD SAFETY AUDIT IN THE DESIGN PROCESS OF THE STATE ROAD A1, SECTION DRENOVO-GRADSKO
(Procedeedings of the Second International Conference "Transport for Today's Society", 2018)
Riste Ristov, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Radojka Donceva, Ivana Nedevska
Road safety mostly depends on the level of equipment in both civil engineering and traffic aspect. The obsolete methods and standards of equipment and the non-application of the experience measures of the Western countries can also be cited as additional reasons for unreliable roads. Considering the fact that the roads are supposed to provide for maximal safety to the users, the equipment level has to be appropriate, without any derogations due to physical, financial or any other reasons. This paper will present part of the remarks identified by Road Safety Audit in the design documentation related to the Drenovo-Gradsko road, and the methods and technical measures necessary to overcome them.

Methodology for analysing capacity and level of service for signalized intersections (HCM 2000)
(MATEC Web of Conferences 86,05026, 2016)
Ivana Nedevska, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Elena Gusakova
The augmentation of motorization level leads us to the need for mobility and demands better infrastructure, in urban and suburban areas. The complexity of this problem is esspecialy notable in urbаn areas where the need for mobility must be considered, as well as the integration of infrastructure network in the urban plan of the city. Besides the space delimitations, functional characteristics and space demands connected with different transportation in cities. This methodology analyses the needs of the urban traffic network in highly populated areas, where space limitation and movements in peak hours must be considered. That is why the analysis of capacity and level of service is key part of the urban traffic planning. Highway Capacity Manual gives the opportunity to analyse the capacity and level of service of the roads in urban or rural areas, by defining the delay of the analysed facilities. To obtain these information, we must have data for geometric, traffic and signalization parameters, when the intersection is signalized.

Methodology for Analysing Capacity and Level of Service for Roundabouts with one Lane (HCM 2000)
    (Procedia Engineering 187, pp 797-802, 2017)
Ivana Nedevska, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Vera Murgul
As the motorisation augments in urban areas, different solutions are required, considering the traffic network. In order to adjust the urban arrangement with the need for mobility, complex process of planning and designing is required. City development contains adequate incertitude which causes difficulty during the process of planning and designing. According to this, the process of planning and designing the city infrastructure network are mutually connected and inevitable. Traffic planning is a base of successful functioning in urban areas. With adequate analysis about city development and traffic, the planning process can begin, and be followed by the designing process and building the traffic network. Analysis of capacity and level of service are necessary, in order to obtain the delay of the analysed facilities. These analyses can be empirical and analytical. The empirical model is based on regression analysis, and the analytical model uses the gap – acceptance theory. Empirical models provide better results, but can be used in cases where few roundabouts are congested, to calibrate the model. Othewise, gap – acceptance methods are used to analyse uncongested roundabouts.

Review on the Pavement-repairing Measures as a Condition for the Choice of Road-Maintenance Strategy
    (MATEC Web of Conferences, 2017)
Ivana Nedevksa, Slobodan Ognjenovic, Andrej Pustovgar
The road-maintenance strategies vary from one country to another, and even between the road management authorities within a one single country. It is not surprising, as there is not best maintenance method, nor a universal set of strategies that can be applied equally everywhere. Generally, there are strategies acceptable in certain conditions, but the factors influencing the selection process are diverse and very complex. This paper will present a review of the various measures that can be applied on the roads, which is certainly the basic condition of selection of an appropriate maintenance strategy.
