Item type:Publication, A Brief History of Sexuality: Periodisation of the Origins of Sexual Taboos and Norms in Eastern and Western Cultures(National Documentation Centre (EKT), 2026-06-30)This paper examines the historical periodisation of sexuality and the development of sexual taboos in Eastern and Western cultures. Through an analysis of archaeological, mythological, religious, and anthropological sources, it demonstrates that sexuality is a culturally constructed, rather than a universal, phenomenon. Eastern traditions have generally treated sexuality as a natural and spiritual force, whereas Western thought – influenced by Greek dualism and Judeo-Christian norms – developed a repressive discourse regarding the body and sexual practices. Particular attention is paid to same-sex relations in Ancient Greece, the development of the incest taboo, and historical shifts in the normative structures regarding female sexuality. The analysis indicates that sexual norms and taboos are historically variable and strictly correlated with religion, political systems, and social power. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Despite its well-known benefits, Macedonian Early Childhood Intervention services still encounter significant challenges. This study included 33 ECI professionals nationwide, who participated in six focus group discussions. The focus groups addressed the daily obstacles these professionals encounter - from screening procedures to parental involvement in Early childhood intervention services. Participants highlighted the lack of standardized Early childhood intervention protocols, the need for ongoing training, and greater financial support from the state. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Visual Impairment in School-Aged Children(2024) ;Tateshi, E. ;Ameti, M. ;Illazi, A.; Tateshi, B.Purpose: Many eye disorders develop during childhood but are often not diagnosed early enough, which can negatively impact a child’s academic performance and lead to serious visionproblems later in life. This study aims to identify the primary causes of vision impairment in children and emphasize the importance of early intervention.Methodology: The study is retrospective and includes an analysis of data on children up to 12 yearsold who were examined at the University Clinic of Ophthalmology in Skopje in 2023. A total of 15,039 children were diagnosed with some form of eye condition during this period. Results: In 2023, strabismus was identified as the most common cause of visionimpairment among the examined children, accounting for 56.9% of cases (8,555 children), followed by refractive errors, which affected 41.6% (6,258 cases). A smaller number of children were diagnosed with infantile and juvenile cataract, representing 0.7% of cases (111 children), and congenital malformations of the lens of the eye, found in 0.5% (69 cases). Conclusion: The findings highlight the importance of targeted screening programs to detect vision impairments early in childhood, as conditions like strabismus and refractive errors account for most cases. Although less common, conditions such as amblyopia and congenital cataracts also require attention due to their potential long-term impact on visual development if left untreated. Implementing timely interventions and improving access to eye care services are essential steps toward enhancing visual health outcomes for children and supporting their academic and social development. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Војна политика и идеологија во 21 век(Annual of the Faculty in Phylosophy in Skopje, 2025-12)Војната претставува еден од најпроучуваните феномени на почетокот на 21 век. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Cross-cultural validation and measurement invariance of anxiety and depression symptoms: A study of the Brief Symptom Inventory (BSI) in 42 countries(Elsevier BV, 2024-04-01) ;Quintana, Gonzalo R ;Ponce, Fernando P ;Escudero-Pastén, Javier I ;Santibáñez-Palma, Juan FNagy, LénaDepression and anxiety are among the most prevalent mental health issues experienced worldwide. However, whereas cross-cultural studies utilize psychometrically valid and reliable scales, fewer can meaningfully compare these conditions across different groups. To address this gap, the current study aimed to psychometrically assess the Brief Symptomatology Index (BSI) in 42 countries. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Addressing climate change with behavioral science: A global intervention tournament in 63 countries(American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), 2024-02-09) ;Vlasceanu, Madalina ;Doell, Kimberly C ;Bak-Coleman, Joseph B ;Todorova, BoryanaBerkebile-Weinberg, Michael MEffectively reducing climate change requires marked, global behavior change. However, it is unclear which strategies are most likely to motivate people to change their climate beliefs and behaviors. Here, we tested 11 expert-crowdsourced interventions on four climate mitigation outcomes: beliefs, policy support, information sharing intention, and an effortful tree-planting behavioral task. Across 59,440 participants from 63 countries, the interventions' effectiveness was small, largely limited to nonclimate skeptics, and differed across outcomes: Beliefs were strengthened mostly by decreasing psychological distance (by 2.3%), policy support by writing a letter to a future-generation member (2.6%), information sharing by negative emotion induction (12.1%), and no intervention increased the more effortful behavior-several interventions even reduced tree planting. Last, the effects of each intervention differed depending on people's initial climate beliefs. These findings suggest that the impact of behavioral climate interventions varies across audiences and target behaviors. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Item type:Publication, Validation of the Short Version (TLS-15) of the Triangular Love Scale (TLS-45) across 37 Languages(Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2024-02) ;Kowal, Marta ;Sorokowski, Piotr ;Dinić, Bojana M ;Pisanski, KatarzynaGjoneska, BiljanaLove is a phenomenon that occurs across the world and affects many aspects of human life, including the choice of, and process of bonding with, a romantic partner. Thus, developing a reliable and valid measure of love experiences is crucial. One of the most popular tools to quantify love is Sternberg's 45-item Triangular Love Scale (TLS-45), which measures three love components: intimacy, passion, and commitment. However, our literature review reveals that most studies (64%) use a broad variety of shortened versions of the TLS-45. Here, aiming to achieve scientific consensus and improve the reliability, comparability, and generalizability of results across studies, we developed a short version of the scale-the TLS-15-comprised of 15 items with 5-point, rather than 9-point, response scales. In Study 1 (N = 7,332), we re-analyzed secondary data from a large-scale multinational study that validated the original TLS-45 to establish whether the scale could be truncated. In Study 2 (N = 307), we provided evidence for the three-factor structure of the TLS-15 and its reliability. Study 3 (N = 413) confirmed convergent validity and test-retest stability of the TLS-15. Study 4 (N = 60,311) presented a large-scale validation across 37 linguistic versions of the TLS-15 on a cross-cultural sample spanning every continent of the globe. The overall results provide support for the reliability, validity, and cross-cultural invariance of the TLS-15, which can be used as a measure of love components-either separately or jointly as a three-factor measure. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Item type:Publication, The International Climate Psychology Collaboration: Climate change-related data collected from 63 countries(Springer Science and Business Media LLC, 2024-10-01) ;Doell, Kimberly C ;Todorova, Boryana ;Vlasceanu, Madalina ;Bak Coleman, Joseph BPronizius, EkaterinaClimate change is currently one of humanity's greatest threats. To help scholars understand the psychology of climate change, we conducted an online quasi-experimental survey on 59,508 participants from 63 countries (collected between July 2022 and July 2023). In a between-subjects design, we tested 11 interventions designed to promote climate change mitigation across four outcomes: climate change belief, support for climate policies, willingness to share information on social media, and performance on an effortful pro-environmental behavioural task. Participants also reported their demographic information (e.g., age, gender) and several other independent variables (e.g., political orientation, perceptions about the scientific consensus). In the no-intervention control group, we also measured important additional variables, such as environmentalist identity and trust in climate science. We report the collaboration procedure, study design, raw and cleaned data, all survey materials, relevant analysis scripts, and data visualisations. This dataset can be used to further the understanding of psychological, demographic, and national-level factors related to individual-level climate action and how these differ across countries.
