Abstract: This article concerns the terminology of the so-called particles in traditional grammar as unchangeable words which have a free form and modify the meaning of the statement. Those parts of the speech, though, have greater role in the text and the traditional criteria do not fit all the aspects, because it is the context which defines the meaning of the particular word. That is why we use a wider category from the textual analyses level, which contains different groups of words, which represent a kind of secret dialogue between the sender and the recipient in the discourse. Polish term “modulant” is an equivalent of the term “discourse marker” in English terminology. Our analyses is based on M. Grochowski’s classification of “modulants” and this article elaborates only some polish particles and connectors, as one of the larger groups of words, concerned as discourse markers and the way they have been translated in Macedonian, as well as the changing of the meaning of the text regarding the way they have been transferred to the other language. There is also a word of the cohesion and the part that discourse markers play in forming the text.
