Abstract: In areas where existing old irrigation systems are in place, in times of significant climate change, the need for a modern type of irrigation is inevitable where with lower water consumption the crop yields are higher and also water losses in the system are greatly reduced compared to conventional irrigation methods, i.e. the system should have a high coefficient of beneficial effect. In this paper by known scientific and practical methods to analyze the possible concepts for modernization of the existing irrigation system where, in addition to technical solutions, the financial implications of such systems are also analyzed. As a case study it analyzed the hydro-meliorative system "Ohrid field”
