Unemployment in Macedonia is one of the most difficult economic, social and political problems, of which the main characteristics and the government response are presented in this paper. Overall, there are no “quick fixes” for problems as severe as those being experienced in the Macedonian labor market. Despite their dedication, Macedonian political leaders to this issue, and many reforms that have been undertook in the last five years, which led to a reduction in unemployment, there are still many possible reforms and practical proposals that can be implemented in order to improve the employment conditions. Some of them are recommended in this paper.en_US
