Скопје: ФИНКИ, УКИМ. | Abstract: | Тhis doctoral dissertation deals with the application of educational software, digital learning materials and information and communication technologies in the field of education. After the analysis of the theoretical foundations for active learning and the detailed reviews of the above mentioned areas in the Republic of Macedonia and in more developed European countries, we analyze selected operating systems, educational software and learning platforms (Linux, Edubuntu, GeoGebra, Scrach, Logo, ToolKid and MOODLE ). Additionally, we are giving an overview of the various learning management systems and learning content. А special emphasis is placed on the role and importance of the application of multimedia and distance education in contemporary education. We offer a new multifunctional educational software that contains digital learning content (animations, simulations and computer games), made by the GeoGebra software. The software is multilingual and can be applied in the teaching process of multiple subjects and within more educational levels. A detailed overview of the three conducted researches is provided, including filled questionnaires by teachers and students regarding the use of ICT and multimedia in education with special attention on Moodle, GeoGebra and ToolKid, as well as lecturing in two secondary schools divided into experimental groups (classes during which animations and simulations from the new educational software were applied) and control groups.
