Abstract: The business community faces fast change due to the fast technology development. Their influence on business causes continous change in the knowledge and possibilities on achieving new solutions and gaining new knowledge in the enterprises. Managing through these continous changes and fast knowledge development makes high pressure on the enterprises as well on the employees. The manner how to use this enterprise uniqueness becomes dominant challenge for every enterprise and its respective management globally. Many researches in the past years have shown that innovations and knowledge management can assist facing those challenges. Creating the balance between them is unique for every enterprise, for every respective management. This doctoral thesis contains two constitutive parts : theoretical and empirical framework. The teoretical framework gives teoretical overview of the most significant researches in the field of knowledge management and innovation and their respective interrelation in new knowledge creaton and commercilising of this new knowledge as innovation. This section discusses the different types of knowledge management and innovation activity conceptualizations within the enterprises, different theories that explain different approaches, the measuring method of their implementation level in the enterprises. The empirical framework describes the research design and gives the main results obtained through the research of selected enterprises based on Questionaire that covers key parameters previously discussed in the teoretical framework. Research focus is measuring the existance, the exchange, the creation of knowledge within enterprises and its usage in terms of new product development and/or improved products of the respective enterprises. Finally, in the conclusion, the study results are elaborated and their contribution to the existing body of knowledge and industry practices is discussed.
