The digital economy refers to the use of ICT technologies as a way to promote the existing economy through the emergence and development of new digital industries or through the development of new businesses and the enhancement of efficiency in traditional ones. During the last 19 years, the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia, through the adoption of various strategic documents at both national and local level, has been working to achieve progress in digital development of the economy and the SMEs in particular. In this paper, through an analysis of the strategic documents, we aim to provide an overview of the legal, regulatory and institutional framework for ICT usage in small and medium enterprises in the Republic of North Macedonia.en_US
