Biography
Irina Talevska graduated in Italian Language and Literature, minoring in Spanish Language and Literature. Dr. Talevska earned her MA and Ph. D at the Department of Comparative Literatures at SS. Cyril and Methodius University of Skopje. She is assistant professor of Italian Literature at the Department of Italian Language and Literature at Blaze Koneski Faculty of Philology in Skopje. Her main research interest is in the field of the Holocaust and Gender Studies. She is author of Gender and Politics of Writing, (Skopje, Sigmapress, 2013) and co-editor of the collection of essays published under the title Fascism. Theory/Memory (with Maja Bojadzievska, Skopje, Sigmapress, 2013). In October 2018 she published the volume European Holocaust Literature. She is also actively dedicated to translating fiction and non-fiction from Italian and Spanish Language. Among her translations are included: Primo Levi, Se questo è un uomo; Anna Maria Ortese, Il mare non bagna Napoli; Giorgio Agamben, Homo Sacer. Il potere sovrano e la nuda vita; Goliarda Sapienza, L'arte della gioia; Italo Svevo, La coscienza di Zeno; Guillermo Martínez, Crímenes imperceptibles; Acerca de Roderer, etc.
